기본적으로 식물세포를 구성하는 세포막과 여러 소기관의 생화학적 조성과 역할을 강의하고 각 세포 소기관에서 일어나는 생화학적 반응들을 강의한다. 또한 일반적으로 생명현상 유지를 위하여 일어나는 기본적인 이온 항상성 유지을 위한 물질 이동과 수송을 포함한 과정과 기작과 단백질의 합성과정과 이동경로를 강의한다. 그리고 여러 가지 외부 환경변화에 대응하여 이를 극복하기 위하여 식물세포에서 이루어지는 세포막에서의 물질 수송과 신호전달과정을 강의한다. .
