사회학적 연구에서 통계적 방법은 매우 광범위하게 이용되고 있다. 이 과목은 학생들로 하여금 통계학의 개념과 원칙을 이해하고 이를 토대로 자료들을 분석할 수 있도록 하는데 그 목적을 두고 있다.
